Make a Family Contact Plan

Designate someone out of the area as a central contact
Make sure all family members know who to call to exchange information

Make Sure You Have Power

Keep wireless phone charged at all times
Use your car charger when power is out

Forward Calls

If you are evacuated, forward your home number to your wireless phone number

Use Text Messaging

When wireless networks become jammed, text messaging may get through
Text messaging often is transmitted faster than voice calls
Text messaging helps free up voice line for emergency officials
